Passover Presentation
This is a fully editable and informative 65-slide presentation on the Passover.
It focuses on:
The ten plagues, the exodus of the Israelites from Egyptian captivity across the Red Sea led by Moses.
The Seder meal – the Seder plate and the symbolic significance of the foods on the plate, other foods at the meal, including matzah, the 4 cups / glasses of wine and the extra wine goblet for the prophet Elijah.
The rituals followed at the Seder meal – breaking the matzah, reading from the ‘Haggadah’, the Seder cushion to ‘lean’ on. The tradition of the youngest child asking the four questions, the spilling of drops of wine onto the plate

This is a seasonal worksheet that involves pupils making as many words as possible from the longer word ‘reindeer’ to help improve their spelling, writing and reading skills . The resource is appropriate for Years 1-6 as pupils and older SEN students. Different degrees of challenge can be set. This resource is a Christmas themed version of ‘stop the bus’. This game involves pupils finding the names of various items in categories beginning with the same letter. The categories include:
elf’s name
angel’s name
item of winter clothing
Christmas food
Toy or game
TV programme or film
Item that can be found on an advent calendar
Pupils are placed into teams of 2-4. Teams choose, in turn, a letter via an advent calendar. Behind each picture on the calendar is a letter. Teams have to think of one item to go in to each category beginning with the selected letter. The first team to finish shouts “Santa – Stop the Sleigh!” If you have a bell a pupil can run out to ring the bell to stop the game! The PowerPoint contains a Christmas-Themed timer with music. Teachers can dress up as Santa to make it even more fun!
Teams score 1 point if they have an appropriate item in the category. They get 2 points if no other team has that word. This resource is suitable for primary school pupils and older SEND pupils and… some adults! Great for parties and games to play at home at Christmas.

This resource is a fully editable and informative, simple text, 75-slide PowerPoint presentation on 'Black History Month' which is celebrated in October in the UK and February in the USA and Canada. Due to the simple text, this resource is appropriate for young / older SEN pupils.
This resource will help to contribute to the students' Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural (SMSC) development by finding out about the history and heritage of communities and the lives of those that overcame the challenges they faced.
It contains references to the history of Black History Month / African-American History Month, the Slave Trade, the Abolition of Slavery, the Civil Rights Movement and its campaign to get human and civil rights for African-Americans, significant civil rights activists - Rosa Parkes, Harriet Tubman, Martin Luther-King, Muhammad Ali, Nelson Mandela, significant events in the struggle for human and civil rights - the Great March on Washington, Tommie Smith and John Carlos' salute at the 1968 Mexico Olympics, the American Civil War and the debate about the appropriateness of 'Black History Month'.
The PowerPoint also contains hyperlinks to Bob Marley's 'Buffalo Soldiers,' Martin Luther's 'I have a dream' speech, Nelson Mandela's story and an interview with Morgan Freeman's explaining why he does not want a 'Black History Month.'

Simulation Activity Pack and Worksheets
This activity pack contains an editable lesson plan. The simulation activity is in the form of a PowerPoint and there are follow-up activities that include questions for discussion and three evaluation and review worksheets.
The simulation has 8 scenarios. Groups of pupils are required to make decisions/take actions. Some of the scenarios are accompanied by a timer with dramatic music playing to simulate the confusion in which refugees have to make quick decisions. Sample scenarios include:
Scenario 1 - War has broken out. Members of the group have to leave home and are required to choose 6 items to take with them.
Scenario 4 - The truck runs out of fuel and members of the group have to walk. To make the journey easier everyone has to take the heaviest item out of their bag to make it lighter.
Scenario 7 – The man with the boat wants payment. The group must give any money they have to him. If they have no money they have to give him their most valuable item.
Refugees Are Human beings PowerPoint Slide Show With Music
This is a powerful and poignant slideshow about asylum seekers and refugees. It contains eighty, thought-provoking images and is accompanied by music. A picture speaks a thousand words and these images certainly do that.
This resource could be used in a variety of ways – for an assembly, to stimulate discussion and creative writing. The slides could be printed off and used for display.
